Tree Types and Details
Grupp's Christmas Trees currently offer two varieties of trees that you can cut yourself. They are Canaan Fir and Concolor Fir. We also have a large selction of
pre-cut Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Concolor Fir, and Canaan Fir.
Canaan Fir
The Canaan Fir is our most popular type of tree. Typically described as a combination between Fraser Fir and Balsam Fir, the Canaan exhibit characteristics of both. This fir has needles that resemble those of the Fraser Fir and range from 1/2 to 1 inch in length. They have excellent needle retention and have a pleasant scent.
Concolor (White) Fir
Also known as a "White Fir," the Concolor Fir is native to Western North America near the Cascade Range and Rocky Mountains. This fir often has blue-ish colored needles. The needles are 1-1/2 to 2 inches long, which makes this unique other firs, which typically have short needles. They also share a very similar citrus scent with the Douglas Fir.
Douglas Fir (Pre-cut Only / Out of Stock)
The Douglas Fir is another very popular tree. While we no longer grow the Douglas, we continue to bring in pre-cut options. They are typically lighter green than other firs. The needles range from 1 to 1-1/2 inches and have excellent needle retention. The interesting citrus scent is perhaps what makes the Douglas so unique.
Fraser Fir (Pre-cut Only)
The Fraser Fir is a native southern fir that naturally grows at elevations above 5,000 feet. This fir has dark green needles while the undersides are a silver color. The needles are 1/2 to 1 inch long and have the best needle retention of all trees along with an extremely nice scent. As a result of the elevation required to grow Fraser Fir, we bring ours in FRESH from North Carolina.
